Apple Cobbler

Recipe of the Month


1 stick melted margarine
1 cup sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 heaping tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 well beaten egg


Place 3 to 4 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples in a 1 ½ quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar. Cut crust from 5 to 6 slices of bread, then cut bread into strips. Place strips very close together over apples. Spoon mixture over bread. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
