September 2004 Recipe of the Month: Dill Pickles Made Sweet
- 4 ½ cups sugar
- ½ cups vinegar
- 1 gallon whole dill pickles
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar
- 3 cups water
- Drain all liquid from pickles. Rinse with water and drain again. Slice, dice or cut as desired.
- Meanwhile, mix and bring remaining ingredients to a boil. Pour liquid over pickles, cool and refrigerate, or seal jars and store without refrigeration. You may also add sweet pickle spices before sealing.
