On the Local Level Summer 2013
Left: HAYWOOD COUNTY Farm Bureau, along with Crabtree-Ironduff Fire Department, the Mountain Research Station and others, sponsored a Farm Safety Day March 2 at the Crabtree-Ironduff Fire Department. The day included lessons on farm safety plans, tractor rollovers, first responder considerations, chemical and fuel storage guidelines and personal protective equipment. Then participants rotated through stations about DMV regulations and the proper way to secure loads, chainsaw safety and proper methods for felling trees and hydraulic and PTO safety.
Right: MITCHELL COUNTY Farm Bureau President Lonnie Cuthbertson, left, presented a plaque to former county president Ed Terrell, recognizing him for serving as president from 1995 to 2012. An appreciation dinner was held in Terrell’s honor March 19 at the Bakersville Masonic Lodge.
