On the Local Level Winter 2012
VANCE COUNTY Farm Bureau recently donated $125,000 to Vance County for the creation of a new Vance County Regional Farmers’ Market. Plans call for a 75,000 square-foot facility where farmers will have a place to sell their goods and serve the local food market. The project follows a study that determined that a market would be valuable to the regional economy. North Carolina Farm Bureau Board of Directors member Pete Burgess is chairman of the Vance County Farmers’ Market Committee, which has been leading the project.
